Class 3 – Instructor Etiquette

Objectives:

  • Better understand instructor etiquette.

Class Focus:

  • “Aim to progress, not to succeed”

  • While we do want to give students a feeling of success, we should also demonstrate how to manage failure while learning.

  • While doing so, instructors can show students that we want to continuously progress, and progress doesn’t mean success every time.

  • Did any students progress even if they didn’t succeed at the overall movement?  What did the instructor do to give steps to get to success?

Homework:

  • Re-read page 5 of “Instructor Responsibilities” (Instructor Etiquette).

  • Of these concepts, which one(s) do you already demonstrate?

  • Of these concepts, which one(s) do you need to (or want to) work on?  How might you go about working on this?
